As a small child, Susan's
passion for art was evident from the pictures she drew, the clothes she
designed for her dolls and the stories she made up. As a teenager her
creativity was channeled into water colours and pen and ink drawings.
However as a young adult, motherhood became her main focus and it
wasn't until she reached her early 50's that she once again explored
her talent.
Now, under the tutelage of Anita Nairne, Susan has once again confronted her
passion and is creating her paintings which come from her photographs.
Her photography comes from "dropping out" of the working world for four
years and traveling around North America, recording her journey
with pictures and an online journal. In that time she has accumulated
in excess of 27,000 photographs, most with the potential to become
paintings. |

"Rediscovering
my talent at this age has
given me the
freedom to be a little reckless with how I paint and much to my
surprise, most of what I create becomes something I am not just amazed
by, but something I am proud of!" says Susan.
Her art is also displayed in Coquitlam and she can be reached by email
